Hour 2: What makes someone a writer and how do those experiences give birth to that writer’s voice? We’ll talk this hour with prolific Kenyan writer Binyavanga Wainaina, who currently directs the Chinua Achebe Center for African Writers and Artists at Bard College [1]. He details his childhood and early literary career in the new memoir “One Day I Will Write About This Place” (Graywolf Press, 2011).
