Charlie Morrison – Pizza Inn

CEO 269

President and CEO
Pizza Inn
September 30, 2011

Pizza Inn CEO Charlie Morrison joins host Lee Cullum to discuss rebranding the nostalgic eatery and launching Pie Five, a fast-gourmet chain catering to young urbanites.

Pizza Inn opened its first pizzeria on Dallas’ Mockingbird Lane in 1958 growing to 800 franchises before falling hard and filing for bankruptcy in the late 80s. Morrison details the strategy that led to the company’s turnaround and his plans for domestic and international growth.  But as commodity prices rise and price wars with competing chains remain strong, so do the challenges of delivering a quality product at a fair price.
