Becoming a Citizen in North Texas

Hour 1:           Is North Texas a good place to become a citizen? What challenges and benefits do new immigrants face when they choose to settle here? We’ll spend this hour with Caroline Brettell, Ph.D. [1], Professor of Anthropology at SMU and co-author of “Civic Engagements: The Citizenship Practices of Indian and Vietnamese Immigrants ” (Stanford University Press, 2011). We’ll also be joined by Prasad Thotakura [2], Dallas business leader and General Secretary of the Indian American Friendship Council.
