Memoirs of an Addicted Brain

Hour 2:           What are the precise effects of drug addiction on the brain? We’ll find out this hour with Marc Lewis, developmental neuroscientist and professor of developmental psychology at Radboud University in the Netherlands. He writes about his own addiction and recovery in the new book “Memoirs of an Addicted Brain: A Neuroscientist Examines his Former Life on Drugs” (PublicAffairs, 2012).

Krys & Marc, great show. I’m eager to read your book. My brother who did 2 tours in Viet-Nam suffered with addiction problems, PTSD, Hep C, agent orange, post-polio, a deteriorated back from 200 parachute jumps and a 40 foot fall hanging iron. Finally the last 3 years of his life, he was able to find a pain management doctor who helped him live with his pain and his addictions. Thanks for your text.
