Hour 1:           Could something as simple as fasting improve a person’s health in multiple ways?  We’ll discuss the history of the practice and the possible benefits this hour with Harper’s contributor Steve Hendricks.       It is my understanding that Muslims merely invert their eating schedule – they eat before dawn and eat again after dusk.  At least this is what my friends that are Muslim do. Is this still considered fasting?  Mr. Hendricks speaks of foregoing all food except water.
