America the Philosophical
June 14, 2012
Hour 1: Could our consumer-oriented and consumption and celebrity-driven society really be one of the most philosophical in history? Our guest this hour thinks so. We’ll talk with Carlin Romano [1], Critic-at-Large of The Chronicle of Higher Education [2] and literary critic for The Philadelphia Inquirer [3]. He studies the historical and current state of our country’s thought in his new book “America the Philosophical” (Knopf, 2012).
