Habits, Life, and Business

Hour 2:           From the archives – What causes a behavior to become a habit? Why are good habits so hard to develop and how are marketers and corporations capitalizing on our habits? In March we talked with The New York Times investigative reporter http://charlesduhigg.com/. His recent book is “The Power of Habit: Why We Do What We Do in Life and Business” (Random House, 2012).

Mr. Duhiggs comments on how AA works were better left unsaid. The people in AA are not habitual, problem drinkers who just need someone to talk too. His statements that meetings are a way for people to form better healty habits trivializes AA and the people in it.

I was so fasiniated. I have never thought about how we learn our habit. Espesially the bad habits.

I don’t think it was intended to trivialize AA. I don’t understand why you think this, but I would like to. Can you explain more of what you’re thinking? Thanks.
