The End of Men

Hour 2:           How are gender dynamics changing in American society and beyond and what is the impact on marriage, sex, children, and work? We’ll talk this hour with Hanna Rosin, senior editor at The Atlantic and author of the new book “The End of Men: And the Rise of Women” (Riverhead, 2012).

If we move from a patriarchy to a matriarchy won’t the entire struggle for gender “equality” have been largely pointless. Isn’t working toward a balance in gender relations the ideal scenario?

Further if thinking that all women were good for was working in the home was a sexist ideology in the 1950′s, isn’t the modern corollary presented here in regards to “house husbands” just as sexist? I have no problem with men wanting to be house husbands by choice, but Rosin seems to imply that this will be an arrangement of necessity, not choice.
Further she implies that men should simply accept this fate. I have a real problem with this.
