The Artist As Changemaker

[1]Hour 1:           Art as social practice is a growing area of interest among artists. But what does it mean when artists forgo painting and sculpture for community outreach projects? We’ll talk this hour with artist and curator Janeil Engelstad [2]. She’s the founding director of “Make Art With Purpose” or MAPS [3], a series of community-based art projects that will take place across North Texas this fall. Engelstad will appear as a panelist at State of the Arts tomorrow evening at the Dallas Museum of Art.
