Fast On Foot

October 14, 2013

[1]Hour 1:           Olympic sprinters like Usain Bolt can run 100 meters in less than 10 seconds. But what are the limits of human speed? As part of KERA’s Breakthroughs [2] initiative, we’ll spend this hour with Dr. Peter Weyand [3], the director of SMU’s Locomotor Performance Laboratory.

He’s featured in Wednesday’s episode of the PBS series NOVA [4].

You can watch it on Friday at SMU’s Annette Caldwell Simmons Hall, with a panel talk to follow featuring Dr. Weyand and NOVA Producer Anna Lee Strachan. KERA’s Lauren Silverman will moderate. Screening’s at 5:30 p.m., discussion’s at 6. Here’s how to RSVP. [5]
