Halloween, Minus The Death

Hour 2:       Tonight, plenty of people will go in search of candy dressed as skeletons and ghosts. But for a holiday that’s all about ghoulishness, our culture has a way of separating thoughts of death from Halloween. We’ll talk this hour with Oliver Burkeman, who recently wrote about our conflicted ideas of Halloween on Slate. Burkeman’s book, The Antidote: Happiness for People Who Can’t Stand Positive Thinking (Faber & Faber, 2012), is out in paperback next week.
