Hour 2:       In November, Dallas voters could go to the polls to decide if DISD is converted to a home-rule district. A 15-member committee will soon draft a home-rule charter for consideration. We’ll talk this hour about the effort and what a home-rule district could look like with reporters covering the issue: KERA’s Bill Zeeble and Tawnell Hobbs and Matthew Haag of The Dallas Morning News.

  • This is an interesting discussion. [I read an article interviewing Bill Ratcliff which provided some information, as I’m not familiar with much of the discussion about Home Rule.] As a teacher for 38 years in a private girls’ school, I’m eager for DISD to improve its school district so that each child receives a superior education similar to the education my students received.
