KERA-TV WINS FOUR LONE STAR EMMY AWARDS

 

DALLAS/FORT WORTH – KERA, the public radio, television and online media affiliate for North Texas, is pleased to announce the receipt of four Lone Star Emmy Awards, presented annually by the Lone Star Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. The awards were announced October 17, 2009 in Dallas.

KERA-TV took top honors in two categories for The Chip that Jack Built: Jack Kilby and the Invention of the Microchip. The award for the Health/Science – News Single Story/Series/Feature category went to Tom Pribyl, animation/graphic design artist, Linda Stogner, producer/director/editor/writer and Rob Tranchin, executive director. Linda Stogner received a second award in the Editor – Program (Non-News) category.

Nowhere But Texas 2 was honored with two Lone Star Emmys for the High Hopes and Mighty Mites segments of the program. The Texas Heritage – Program Feature/Segment Award was awarded for the High Hopes segment. Mighty Mites won the Texas Heritage – Program/Special Award. Both productions feature the work of Gila Espinoza, associate producer, Therese Powell, producer, Tom Pribyl, graphic design artist, Linda Stogner, producer/director/editor and Rick Thompson, executive director.
