North Texas Public Broadcasting, Inc. currently has an opening for a Digital Designer-Developer. The Digital Designer-Developer position represents an opportunity to work in a dynamic media organization, creating compelling digital content and serving hundreds of thousands of unique monthly visitors.
This position will help design, build and maintain our network of sites including kera.org, kxt.org, artandseek.org and other digital products.
This role is on the front lines of innovative digital news project design, quality control, information architecture, cross-device testing, site and image optimization and more. Will work closely with KERA Digital, Content and Marketing staff members and other internal stakeholders to develop, support and enhance in-house programs, projects and goals, and will assist in brainstorming, designing and implementing new strategies for building traffic and membership revenue.
Experience and Skills:
This position should be able to flip between design, front-end and back-end development at will. The ideal skill set will include a high degree of fluency in digital image and media editing using Photoshop, Illustrator and other software as needed.
Time management skills with the ability to complete tasks on deadline are crucial.
Knowledge of video delivery, as well as local news and music, is a plus.
Problem solving and learning are more important than any specific tool or technology.
The ability to learn, adapt and use new versions or similar of previously-mentioned tools and frameworks is a must.
A bachelor’s degree in digital design or a computer-related field such as computer science or information technology.
