Internship – Art&Seek, Summer 2014

North Texas Public Broadcasting (KERA/KXT) is seeking a student intern to assist in the Art&Seek department. The intern will report to the Arts Director and will assist managers, reporters, photographers and editors on covering arts and culture for ArtandSeek.org. Due to the nature of the project, a car is required.

Intern Responsibilities:
  • Write, photograph, blog, gather sound and contribute to radio reports about artists and arts events in North Texas.
  • Assist with blogging on Art&Seek website
  • Assist with Art&Seek calendar
  • Assist with Art&Seek social networking
  • Other duties as assigned
Computer Skills Required:
  • Editing/production (i.e. Final Cut)
  • Word Processing
  • Social networking Assist with Art&Seek social networking
This internship opportunity with NTPB is an unpaid opportunity and no compensation will be given. To qualify for an internship with KERA/KXT, the individual must be currently enrolled full-time as an undergraduate; have completed his/her freshman year; be returning to college or currently be a full-time sophomore, junior or senior; and be carrying a minimum of 12 credits per semester. Written documentation from the college stating the intern’s undergraduate full-time status must be received before the internship begins. Internship opportunities may be from six weeks to multiple semesters. It is preferable that the intern opportunity is for class credit.
The intern will meet the education standards set forth by the university or college managing the internship. Excellent communication skills are required, with particular emphasis on good verbal and written skills. Student must exhibit maturity and dedication to the internship.
