IT Manager

North Texas Public Broadcasting, Inc. (KERA TV – Channel 13, KERA FM 90.1 & KXT FM 91.7), the Dallas/Fort Worth public television and radio stations, has an opening for an experienced IT Manager to support the organization. This position reports to the Director of Broadcast Operations and has one direct report.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Manages every aspect of the IT environment
  • Serves as primary end-user support for 70+ users – 24 hours a day / 7 days a week
  • Active Directory administration
  • Windows Server administration
  • Microsoft Exchange administration
  • Configures and administers Cisco VoIP Phone System
  • Procurement of all IT related equipment/services
  • Maintains network security and implements appropriate controls
  • LAN/WLAN/WAN design/troubleshooting/maintenance
  • Manages and performs routine backups and restorations of systems and data; ensures disaster recovery and back-up procedures are adequate
  • Applies operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes
  • Develops budgets
  • Reviews new technologies and makes recommendations to senior staff to increase the quality of service and support short and long-term strategic business plan
  • Manages and executes complex technical projects
  • Recommends and coordinates with external vendors
  • Develops and implements IT policies and procedures appropriate for the environment
  • Performs other duties as needed in order to maintain an efficient IT environment
  • Manages, mentors and trains IT Technician staff

Requirements:

  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Exchange 2010/Windows Server 2008/Citrix XenServer/Windows 7
  • Proficient knowledge of Active Directory
  • Proficient knowledge of LAN/WAN infrastructure
  • Excellent troubleshooting/analytical skills
  • Strong customer service skills including strong oral and written communication skills
  • Cisco CCNA preferred
