Art & Seek House Band: Shibboleth

Art&Seek’s theme music was composed by Dallas instrumental band Shibboleth.
We had fun working with the guys, who were patient with us as we tried to explain how to edit the music for the different needs of television and radio: “I’m hearing cocktail party chatter.” “More of that jellyfish sound.” “Less of the woo-woo.” “Floofy and rounded, like lava lamp floaters.”

Shibboleth just put out a great new CD, Experiment in Error, engineered by Stuart Sikes. They’ve got a cool project working with Bobby Patterson on some new songs, an interesting name, and a sense of humor, as their Web site bios below clearly show:

James Driscoll (Left): "James spent most of his youth in Singapore learning the ways of the bass in secret mountaintop caves. His bass says “Vox” on the pointy end and simply cannot be ignored."
Rich Martin (Center): "Rich writes a lot of songs and writes well. He's got a house full of vintage keyboards and ain't afraid to use them. He speaks quietly and does most of the cooking."
Don Cento (Right): "From the home state of Samuel Clemens, our guitar anti-hero Don boasts a healthy suspicion of seafood and an equally robust affection for Hawaiian steel guitar."
