As News Coordinator for KERA, Lyndsay Knecht produces content for keranews.org and KERA 90.1. She assists in production for “Think,” filling in for the senior producer as needed. Lyndsay manages social media for the newsroom, acts as liaison between departments to promote and plan editorial content and events, and trains freelancers and interns.
Before joining the station’s staff in 2012, she worked on large-scale data projects for the Texas Department of Transportation and other state agencies and nonprofits as a Research Analyst for the Center for Economic Development and Research at the University of North Texas. Lyndsay served on the pilot core staff of the 35 Denton music festival for two years. During her time as the festival’s publicist and development coordinator, 35 Denton earned the Texas Downtown Association award for Best Promotional Event.
For eight years, Lyndsay has written about music, art and culture for outlets like NBCDFW and the Denton Record-Chronicle. She is a graduate of the University of North Texas’ Creative Writing program and lives in Denton with her five-year-old son, Charlie.
