Before One Moves to Dallas, One Should Always . . .
… cut a book deal. First Lady Laura Bush has finally done what has been rumored for weeks: She’s signed with Scribner’s:
Describing Mrs. Bush as a First Lady who “has maintained a notable level of discretion,” [Scribner publisher Susan] Moldow said the book will “provide a candid and personal perspective, and an enduring record, of the years that have already determined the course of the 21st century.”

These political book deals don’t look right to me. No matter the issue or the party, I think they are a way to pay off politicians for favors.
Too many bad books are published with too much payout in advances.
She is the most bland first lady EVER. I can’t imagine that book will be a must-read.
