"It’s what is funded or how its funded. Somehow this trickles down as elitist or unfair to all."

What or how. That's why it comes across as unfair and elitist. Late 20th century arts hysteria tells us that some of the most thought - filled art is oft decried and obscene, unnatural, unwholesome. That may in fact be the case, but none of those things absolutely make art less intelligent or meaningful or necessary. Those who think that's the case are usually wrong and often have the loudest negative reactions, which influences how money is spent on art.

I did not do well on the quiz.
But neither does the US Government. do well on promoting the arts. You notice its a democratic issue. Something is wrong here. The arts are important to all Americans. It's more than just spending - Republicans are not opposed to that. It's what is funded or how its funded. Somehow this trickles down as elitist or unfair to all.
Time for a revolution in arts - and government. funding that supports local art centers - then gets out of the way.
I think if the arts are brought out of the ivory towers, both parties will delight in supporting the arts. Long live the new revolution in the arts and media.
