I learned of Andrew's death tonight, August 4, when I opened the latest invitation to the August opening reception. The words "memorial celebration" hit me like a rock. Andrew and I were close pals from the time he started school at Lake Highland in Orlando. We had a lot of laughs and fun over the years. We lost touch for a while but we reconnected in 1998 when we both moved to San Francisco. I had the opportunity to visit Light & Sie a couple of years ago and to meet Stanley. Andrew was so happy. He was a wonderful friend and teacher.

I was Andrew's partner for 4 years back in Orlando, florida. I now live in Eugene and recently contacted him and we were talking every day. I had not spoken to him and got worried and e-mailed him on July 1st telling him to call "Home". I had talked to him about all my recent problems, in paticular and he never said a word about any of his issues. We had talked about getting a place together, since I just lost a very close friend here in Eugene. I knew him so well and his mom and dad were like family to me. I feel totally lost after finding out from the gallery today. He was a class act, with a helping hand at all times. The last time I talked to him, I had told him that I felt like I would be a burden (because of my drug addiction) and now he is gone. Only the good did young is so true. He always was there for me, I wish I had been there for him

Andrew was a great friend to me since our early childhood. He became part of my family as we got older. My family and I will miss him greatly.

To his friends and family--He will be remembered in your hearts.

Love,

Tom, Bing, Sarah and Samuel
