90.1 At Night carries on the tradition of KERA's long-running eclectic music programming.

J. Paul Slavens has hosted the Sunday night music show since 2005, bringing to the program a diverse, seemingly random mix of styles, genres and time periods.  Paul is also well known in the North Texas area for his work as a multi-instrumentalist with bands like Ten Hands, the Baptist Generals and Robert Gomez. 

Paul SlavensCurrently, Paul has a Monday night residency at Dan's Silverleaf in Denton, Texas, where he is joined by an ever-changing array of luminaries such as Jeff Barnes of Brave Combo.  Paul takes suggestions from the audience and the band creates full-blown songs on the spot. 

He is working on a Masters of Composition at the University of North Texas, and his works have been performed at the Dallas Museum of Art, the McKinney Avenue Contemporary and numerous churches, campuses and schools around the area. Paul also works as a a commercial voice-over artist and actor.
