(11/30/05):
"Call Glenn." That was the easy decision whenever there was a good sports-related story happening reasonably close to Dallas that we felt was a natural for Only A Game. So I'd call Glenn. We'd have a very brief editorial discussion because Glenn always knew how to approach a story. Then we'd have a few laughs because this was sports, after all, and Glenn seemed to relish the occasional opportunity to work in the candy store. What Glenn may not have known, although I hope that he did, is how much I welcomed the opportunity to work with him, although it never seemed like work because Glenn was so thoroughly professional and unfailingly affable. Over the past decade or so, Glenn covered a very wide range of subjects for Only A Game, from college and pro sports to more offbeat topics like chess scholarships and wiener dog racing. Our listeners will miss his contributions, and the entire Only A Game staff will miss his wonderful sense of humor and considerable talent for radio.
