News Releases August 19, 2024 82DALLAS / FORT WORTH / DENTON – KXT 91.7 FM is excited to announce its third annual Get Loud with KXT concert, happening on Friday, October 25, 2024, at Ferris Wheelers in Dallas. In continuing with the tradition of highlighting artists in North Texas, the 2024 lineup includes a headlining set from breakout singer-songwriter Abraham Alexander, with support from The Rosemont Kings and sounds by DJ Bella Scratch.
“We’re so excited for this year’s Get Loud show,” says Benji McPhail, KXT Program Director. “It’s going to be the perfect way to round out our month-long celebration of North Texas’ incredible music scene.”
KXT is proud to provide a spotlight on musicians in North Texas every day of the year, but during Local Music Month in October, North Texas artists get a special spotlight. Throughout the month, listeners enjoy homegrown sounds every hour, special digital features and more.
With the release of his acclaimed debut album, SEA/SONS, Fort Worth’s Abraham Alexander has been lauded as an exceptionally gifted songwriter, known for capturing deeply personal storytelling and racking up millions of streams. And though his music is not new to KXT, NPR named him one their favorite new artists in 2023.
Since forming in 2016, The Rosemont Kings have become regulars among KXT’s music rotation. The eight-piece group is known for blending soul, funk and blues for a sound that can be traced straight to its Oak Cliff roots. Additionally, the band was among 30 homegrown artists chosen for digital and on-air features during last year’s KXT Local Music Month celebration.
Dallas-based DJ Bella Scratch, who also happens to be KERA’s Midday Host and Technical Director, will also keep audiences dancing with exceptional sounds and beats. Tickets will be available for $25, and go on sale to the public on August 23, 2024, at 10 a.m. Ferris Wheelers offers food and beverages for purchase. Limited parking is available, but use of DART or ride-sharing services is encouraged. For more details, check out kxt.org/getloud.
