Kit Lively is the Director of Education at KERA. Because she believes all children should have the opportunity to live to their full potential, Kit provides educators and parents with resources and information to enrich learning for children of all ages at school and at home.
Before coming to KERA, she helped run an education research and policy center and, before that, worked as an education journalist at several publications including The Chronicle of Higher Education and The Dallas Morning News. She is a past president and board member of the national Education Writers Association and currently sits on the board of Open Door Preschool in Old East Dallas. She has a bachelor’s degree in English from Centre College of Kentucky, a master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University and a master’s in education policy from Vanderbilt University.
She and her husband, Sam, are always primed for new adventures in hiking and birdwatching.
