Dallas / Fort Worth / Denton – KXT 91.7 is excited to announce the KXT Summer Concert Series, presenting five free concerts at Klyde Warren Park this summer.

The new series will feature performances from local and national acts, kicking off on May 26, 2023, and running through July 28. Each show will begin at 7 p.m. and feature intimate performances on the Klyde Warren Park stage with food trucks and beverages available for purchase for the perfect evening in the park.

“We are so excited to introduce KXT listeners to some amazing musicians,” says Benji McPhail, KXT Program Director. “It’s going to be a lot of fun hanging out on Friday nights at Klyde Warren Park and giving everyone a taste of how diverse and talented the KXT and North Texas music community is.”

From R&B to Americana to indie-pop, the concert series highlights the eclectic sounds listeners know and love on KXT.

The series kicks off on May 26 with Dallas singer/songwriter Kirk Thurmond, joined by Max Poscente of the band About You. On June 9, Las Los and Paul of Paul & The Tall Trees open the show for Sunny War, an L.A.-based solo artist who blends elements of folk and punk rock. Then on June 23, KXT’s own La Bell leads a stacked lineup including Gollay and Bandcamp.

Indie-pop artist Honin opens the July 7 show, with a headlining set from Jacob Metcalf, a local alternative folk artist. And sending audiences off into the last stretch of summer is J Isaiah Evans & The Boss Tweed, joined by opener Frankie Leonie on July 28.

KXT’s Summer Concert Series is free and open to the public, but registration is encouraged. To register, and for more details, visit kxt.org/summerseries. For media inquiries, contact Lauren Menking at lmenking@kera.org.
