User Information

KERA does not sell, loan, rent, exchange, trade, or share its donor lists, donors’ personally identifiable information, or donor records with any non-affiliated third party for any reason. KERA defines a non-affiliated third party as any person, company, partnership or other party that is not controlled by or acting on behalf of, or at the request of KERA for the purpose of fundraising, underwriting or development. KERA defines those third parties who are controlled by or acting on behalf of, or at the request of KERA for the purpose of fundraising, underwriting or development purposes as affiliated third parties.

In addition, KERA does not sell, loan, rent, exchange, trade, or share donor names or other personally identifiable information to commercial third parties that are not affiliated with KERA, any political organizations, religious groups, credit card mailers or public advocacy or self-interest organizations.

Personally-identifiable information may be collected through websites and apps owned and operated by KERA and through other means, including in person, by phone, by mail or email you send to KERA, but you are not required to provide this information unless you desire to give it to us. If you choose not to provide this information, then certain offers may not be available to you. These offers may include transaction processing, direct marketing, contest or sweepstakes registration, community postings, online membership registration, e-newsletter signup, etc.

KERA may use your personally identifiable information for activities explained above for internal and marketing promotional purposes. KERA also partners with outside companies for web content, special offers, promotions and other related activities. In cases where offers or information are directly requested by these non-affiliated third party outside companies, when you choose to offer any personal information to such company, you are providing this information to a non-affiliated third party. KERA is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of any other non-affiliated third party’s site. Please consult those sites to learn more about their privacy policies.

Online Security

Personally identifiable information, including payment card numbers and other financial information, that you enter into various websites and apps owned and operated by KERA, including Donate, is stored in encrypted form on secure servers. KERA employs industry standard encryption and security with all personal information. Access to personally identifiable information in our databases is strictly limited to specific KERA employees and contracted affiliated third-party vendors who handle member communications, process online contributions and fulfill merchandise orders.

Cookies, Web Beacons and Browsers

A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user’s device containing information about the user. KERA uses cookies to recognize your identity in websites and apps owned and operated by KERA and contribution functions so you don’t have to reconfirm each time you visit our site. Certain other sections also use cookies to accurately count visitors to that content. In addition, sponsorship service vendors who service sponsorship messages onto websites and apps owned and operated by KERA, and third-party vendors that measure and analyze the use of the KERA websites and apps for KERA, may also use their own cookies.

KERA and any third-party vendors that measure and analyze the use of websites and apps owned and operated by KERA may also use web beacons, alone or in conjunction with cookies, to help compile information about and facilitate usage of KERA websites and apps. A web beacon is an electronic image which can be used to recognize certain information on your computer, such as cookies, and the time and date of a page viewed.

If you wish to prevent certain or all cookies or web beacons from being set to your device, you may disable them in your browser’s preferences, although your browser might then be unable to accommodate certain functionalities on the websites and apps owned and operated by KERA.

Additionally, this site has implemented Google Analytics to measure traffic, and may use its remarketing feature to purchase ads on Google’s Display Network. This enables third parties (including Google) to display ads from our underwriters on other Internet sites. By using first-party cookies (such as Google Analytics) and third-party cookies (like Google’s DoubleClick cookie) together, the site and third party vendors are able to serve ads to visitors of this site. No personally identifiable information will be shared in these transactions. If you wish to opt out of Google Analytics for Display Advertising or customize your Google Display Network ads you can use Google’s Ad Settings. You can also opt out of Google Analytics completely, by following the instructions on this page: Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Contributions and Payment Card Security

KERA offers you the ease of making membership contributions and product purchases via payment card. KERA and our affiliated third-party vendors, who support websites and apps owned and operated by KERA, the Donate pages and payment card processing utilize up-to-date best practices to guarantee payment card account information security and to secure any information from your computer to our server. All payment card transactions are done through a secure server; this means that any information you submit is encrypted on its way between computers. Your payment card information is used only for your intended purpose — for the purchase or contribution you wish to make.
