KERA announces new children’s podcast, Tiempo Tranquilo

News Releases 176

KERA is excited to announce the launch of its first-ever children’s podcast, “Tiempo Tranquilo.” Offered in both English and Spanish, the podcast is a learning resource for curious young minds between the ages of four and eight, as well as their teachers and caregivers.

Led by host Cecelia Adame, listeners will walk through experiences with big feelings like excitement, disappointment and more — and learn helpful tools to navigate those emotions, like mindful practices and breathing exercises.

“When our team set out to create a bilingual children’s podcast, we turned to the community to listen to the needs and wants of families and educators in North Texas,” said Lisa Bracken, KERA’s Director of Education. “This critical feedback led us to create a podcast featuring calming and mindful practices while exploring emotions with fun, rich sound immersion, and compelling storytelling through our host.”

In line with KERA’s mission to make educational programming accessible to all in our community, each of the eight episodes is offered in both English and Spanish, for a total of 16 episodes. “Tiempo Tranquilo” is funded in part under a grant from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) as part of their Ready To Learn Initiative, funded by the Department of Education. Additional funding is provided by Donna Wilhelm.

“Tiempo Tranquilo” is available now wherever you listen to your favorite podcasts. Learn more at kera.org/tiempo.
