Congratulations to Jochem Herremans, of Antwerp, Belgium, the winner of the Flickr Photo of the Week contest. Jochem has been the winner of our little contest multiple times. His most recent victory can back in July of 2016. He follows last week’s winner, Robin Jean Washburn of Dallas.

If you would like to participate in the Flickr Photo of the Week contest, all you need to do is upload your photo to our Flickr group page. It’s fine to submit a photo you took earlier than the current week, but we are hoping that the contest will inspire you to go out and shoot something fantastic this week to share with Art&Seek users. If the picture you take involves a facet of the arts, even better. The contest week will run from Tuesday to Monday, and the Art&Seek staff will pick a winner on Friday afternoon. We’ll notify the winner through FlickrMail (so be sure to check those inboxes) and ask you to fill out a short survey to tell us a little more about yourself and the photo you took. We’ll post the winners’ photo on Tuesday.

1Now here’s more from Jochem.

Title of photo: ‘A Broken Abbey’

Equipment: Nikon D7100, with a Sigma 17.0-70.0 mm lens.

Tell us more about your photo:  This picture is taken at  ‘The Abbaye de Villers’ (Villers Abbey), situated in the commune of Villers-la-Ville (Belgium) in grounds of more than 36 hectares. It was founded in the 12th Century, under the aegis of Saint Bernard. Today, its majestic ruins give a marvelous idea of the life of monks of the Cistercian Order. In one of these ruins I took this picture, looked up and saw the beautiful sky and the ‘broken Abbey’. I hoped the exposure would turn out well, and it did with some tweaks in Luminar.
