Flickr Photo Of The Week 12

flickr post

Congratulations to Joseph Haubert of Addison, winner of the Flickr Photo of the Week contest. Joseph is multiple winner of our contest. His last victory came back in July. He follows last week’s winner Jordan Hartman of Dallas.

If you would like to participate in the Flickr Photo of the Week contest, all you need to do is upload your photo to our Flickr group page. It’s fine to submit a photo you took earlier than the current week, but we are hoping that the contest will inspire you to go out and shoot something fantastic this week to share with Art&Seek users. If the picture you take involves a facet of the arts, even better. The contest week will run from Tuesday to Monday, and the Art&Seek staff will pick a winner on Friday afternoon. We’ll notify the winner through FlickrMail (so be sure to check those inboxes) and ask you to fill out a short survey to tell us a little more about yourself and the photo you took. We’ll post the winners’ photo on Tuesday.

Title of photo: Dallas Stormy Train Track Reflection

Equipment: Canon Rebel T5i

Tell us more about your photo:  The photo was taken Wednesday the 25th around 7pm. I was on the west side of downtown Dallas heading to an event, when I noticed these two large storm clouds hovering over downtown. The clouds were bathed in a beautiful blue hue night sky, it was all very striking to me. I understand weather can change very quickly, so I pulled over and used my surroundings to take the best shot I could. I was near a train track, and I love train tracks, so that’s where I took it. I’m all about composition, so I used the train track rail to not only create a gorgeous reflection of the skyline but to also establish a field of depth and composition. I am very happy with the shot, it’s a very cool moment in time for me. It also gives viewers an honest look at what I saw that night and maybe an insight on how Ican see things sometimes.
