This Saturday, Mansfield’s annual “Arts Week” celebration will take place at The LOT Downtown amphitheater.
The usual four-day event, hosted by the Mansfield Commission for the Arts, was cut down to one day.
“Because of COVID and unfortunately a lot of our community theaters, orchestras and arts groups just not having space or capacity to rehearse and perform, we’ve had to modify and pair things down,” said Rosalie Gilbert, cultural arts supervisor for the City of Mansfield.
From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., visitors are invited to celebrate local artists and arts organizations to kick off spring break.
On the LOT stage, there will be performances from Magnificent Theatre Company. Mainstage Classic Theatre, hypnotist Jonathan Yeager and North Texas singer/songwriter Ginny Mac. Around the LOT’s yard, kid’s activities include building your own stuffed animal and clay creations.
At 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., Victors to catch a theater reading and a performance at Farr Best Theater.
The celebration will also highlight the following visual arts vendors: Dallas Williams, Geraldine Brettman, Custom Textured Wood, Arts Undefined, Razorblade Art, Altered Expressions, Rick Wallace, Papa Jack Toys, Heidi Tournoux Studios, Designs by Misty Blue, Pottery Conceptions, Rick Allen Designs, Jazz Legacy Arts, Chachi Krinn and Vaughn Wynne-Jones.
Gilbert said the outdoor event at the amphitheater will be socially distanced, with vendors and activities spaced out. Activities at The Farr Best Theater will follow masking and social distancing requirements, only seating 37 people.
