Jeff Penfield
Jeff Penfield is Program Director of 90.1 KERA News and oversees the overall sound of the station to ensure it reflects all North Texas communities.
Jeff came to KERA in 2019 after stops in Los Angeles, Charlotte, and Boston. His work at public radio music stations included tastemaker KCSN-FM, where he was an essential part of the station’s mission to support musicians as Assistant Program Director and Director of Digital Integration. He has interviewed artists like Coldplay, Dan Auerbach, Vampire Weekend, Regina Spektor, Portugal. The Man, Danger Mouse and many more.
A Concord, Massachusetts native, his first experience in broadcasting came at his high school station, WIQH-FM, which kick started his love of radio. He earned his bachelor’s degree at Emerson College in Boston, where he also joined the staff of award winning WERS-FM as a programmer and on-air host.
