2020 hasn’t been so nice.

Stage West wants to ease the pain of a very bad year by presenting The Naughty List —  a socially-distanced show perfect for the holiday season (and the perfect send off to a year we can’t wait to be over).

Director Garret Storms and choreographer Danielle Georgiou lend their talents to this original  production by Moonrise Initiative, a new company of independent artists from the North Texas area.

“The coming-of-age story features holiday characters such as Santa, Jack Frost and Krampus,” said Stage West’s Executive Producer, Dana Schultes. “Confusion happens when one of them ends up on the naughty list unexpectedly. It has great music and it’s perfect for whole family or even date night.”

In addition to the holiday music and dancing, Schultes says the lighting of the production is magical too. Lighting designer Brian Stevenson creates the perfect seasonal mood with his design.

“People should come and see this particular production because it puts a little bit of magic at the end of what has been incredibly difficult year.”

The yuletide race to save Christmas is just under an hour in length and is presented as an in-person event on the lawn at Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth.

For social distance purposes, seating will be marked and spaced into sections that accommodate up to six people. Masks are required when not seated. Guests may bring blankets or lawn chairs

Since the show is outside, Schultes suggest that everyone watch the weather and dress appropriately. Mylar blankets and hand warmers will be for sale and the Lobby Café staff will sell hot chocolate and warm freshly-baked cookies to help take the chill away. More tips on how to stay warm during the show are available on Stage West’s FAQ page.

For those who prefer to watch from the comfort of home, Stage West has filmed the production and is offering a streaming option via Vimeo. A code will be sent to patrons by 6 p.m. on the day they choose to see.
