Prince William and Kate Middleton’s Nuptials Broadcast

KERA TV will air coverage of the Royal Wedding between Prince William of Wales and Catherine Middleton from 2:00 a.m. CST to 7:30 a.m. CST  in the early morning hours of  Friday, April 29, 2011. The five-and-a-half hours of live coverage is available via a partnership with BBC ONE, the British Broadcasting Company’s UK flagship network. Commentary for the event will be provided by Huw Edwards, veteran BBC newsman.

Beginning at 2:00 a.m., coverage will include live reports from St. Andrew’s University where the couple first met, from Middleton’s home village of Bucklebury and from a number of military locations throughout the UK and abroad. As the wedding time approaches, coverage will cut to the Royal Family, including Prince William and Catherine as they arrive at Westminster Abbey, the throngs of onlookers and the first glimpse of Middleton’s wedding dress.

The wedding ceremony begins at 5:00 a.m. CT. Immediately following, the newly-marrie d co up le begin their return journey to Buckingham Palace where Prince William and Princess Cathe rine will join the rest of the Royal Family on the balcony of Buckingham Palace as they greet the crowds and witness the Royal Air Force flyover.

KERA TV will rebroadcast the program in its entirety on Friday evening, April 29, 2011 beginning at 7:30 p. m. with another airing on Sunday, May 1, 2011 beginning at 1:30 p.m.

In conjunction with the royal event, KERA will also air the documentary WILLIAM AND KATE: THE ROYA L WEDDING.  The program celebrates and illuminates one of the most highly anticipated events in Britain’s ro yal history, tracing the story of the royal couple’s romance, profiling the participants and detailing key aspects of a Royal Wedding. The documentary premieres on KERA TV on Monday, April 25, 2011, at 8:00 p. m. CST with a rebroadcast on Thursday, April 28 at 7:00 p.m. CST.
