General, News Releases 126

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: October 20, 2011

DALLAS/FORT WORTH – Michael Jennings, CEO and President of HollyFrontier Corporation, speaks with KERA host Lee Cullum on this month’s episode of CEO. Go inside one of the largest independent oil refiners in the United States to learn how proximity to an excess crude supply in the middle of the country gives the company an advantage over its coastal competitors. Jennings shares key strategies for the company’s success, stating, “We sell products into many industrial markets. It creates a more stable earning stream, and that was one of our drivers in putting these two companies together—to improve the stability in what can be a very deeply cycled economic business.” The chief executive also details the challenges of operating in a capital-intensive industry with environmental and regulatory pressures.

KERA’s CEO features insightful discussions with successful North Texas business leaders from the corporate and not-for-profit sectors about what it takes to make a company successful in today’s global marketplace and changing economy.
